Babanagri: Thousands of devotees thronged Baba Nagri to attend the 122th Urs of Hazrat Baba Nizam-ud-Din Kiyanvi (RA). The two days Urs, celebrated with enthusiasm and gaiety, concluded Thursday with special prayers at Baba Nagri in Wangat Kangan.
Every year, the Urs commences on June 7th with Quran Khawani, Daroud and Khatmat-ul-Mozamaat followed by night long prayers and concludes on June 8th with joint prayers.
Besides paying obeisance on the Dargah of Hazrat Baba Nizam-ud-Din Kiyani (RA) devotees also took part in night long shab-khawani.
On the concluding day, a joint prayer was held in which devotees prayed for peace, prosperity, unity, brotherhood and communal harmony of the State
On the occasion, Sajadh Nisheen Darbari Aaliya Babaji, Mian Bashir Ahmed appointed his son Mian Altaf Ahmed as his successor.
In the presence of thousands of devotees Main Bashir tied a turban on the head of Mian Altaf. An emotional scene was witnessed as Main Altaf broke into tears while the devotees greeted him with slogans.
Devotees from the state and outside, including from PaK, participated in the Urs.
“It is our third visit here as we have faith on this shrine. We get peace of mind here, and pray for betterment of our career which is fulfilled by the Almighty God,” a devotee said.
“This time we travelled via Mughal road and we feel a different atmosphere while travelling through this route. It took us very less time to reach here as compared to Jammu Srinager highway,” a group of young devotees from Surankote Poonch wearing green bands on their forehead said.
Meanwhile Main Bashir highlighted the life and contribution of Hazrat Baba Nizam-ud-Din (RA). He said Hazrat Kiyanvi (RA) preached the lesson of Islam and piousness. He said following the Islamic teachings and treading on it can ensure eradication of evils from the society.
Mian Bashir said that Islam teaches the lesson of humanity and sympathy and stressed upon devotes to work for the welfare of common man and follow the teachings of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
He said Hazrat Baba Nizam-ud-Din Kiyanvi (RA) followed the teachings of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and reached to this point of spirituality. He said one can live peaceful and dignified life and strengthening the bases of communal harmony once he acts upon the teachings of Islam.
