Srinagar: An army soldier and three militants were killed along the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowgam sector of Kupwara district on Thursday in a gunfight that began when the army spotted an infiltration bid. An army spokesperson told Kashmir Reader that three AK-47 rifles and other war-like stores were recovered from the possession of the three slain militants.

The officer said that Indian army responded to the fire and foiled the infiltration bid. During the exchange of fire, an army soldier was killed.

Brigadier Soni said that three militants were killed and the search operation for militants is still on. “Search operation is still on. We have recovered three weapons including 3 AK-47 rifles, grenades, ammunition and other war-like stores from the militants,” he said.
