Shopian shuts against student’s killing

Srinagar: A complete shutdown is being observed in Shopian district of south Kashmir Wednesday against the killing of a twelfth class student at the hands of government forces.
Aadil Farooq Magray son of Farooq Ahmad Magray was shot and killed by forces during clashes in Ganowpora village of Shopian last evening.
The clashes had erupted between forces and protesters after a cordon and search operation (CASO) was launched in the village to nab the hiding militants.
Local sources said that Aadil was a student of government higher secondary school Shopian which has been closed by authorities for today fearing protests.
They said people are assembling in Balpora, Ganowpora area to participate in the funeral prayers of Aadil scheduled at 11 am.
