Sumbal: The identity of the militants killed in a “fidayeen attack” on a 45 BN CRPF camp at Sumbal in North Kashmir’s Bandipora town during wee hours on Monday is yet to be ascertained.
Talking to reporters on the side lines of a felicitation ceremony at Sumbal, DGP S P Vaid said that “the identity of militants is a matter to be probed”.
The police chief said that “the militants apparently didn’t seem to be locals and belonged to Lashkar Toiba outfit and the information about their infiltration will only come forward after investigation”.
Vaid along with DG CRPF General Rajiv Rai felicitated the police and CRPF personnel who had repulsed the attack in an award ceremony at the CRPF camp Sumbal.
“The Army, police and CRPF have retaliated this attack with quickness, coordination and bravery and have saved camp and men” Vaid said.
