SRINAGAR: Vice-Chairman (VC), J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Kisan, Daljit Singh Chib Monday convened a meeting to review the implementation of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes catering to the needs of the farmers.
According to an official handout issued here, the VC was briefed about the various Centrally Sponsored Schemes that were being implemented by the Board “to enhance productivity among farmer community”.
Stressing on the need to create awareness among farmers, Vice-Chairman said the mass media, including print and electronic media, should be utilized from time to time so that benefit of these Centrally Sponsored Schemes could percolate to the farmers living in rural areas.
He said, “Mass media support to agricultural extension and focused publicity campaigns will go a long way in strengthening reach out to all farmers including small and marginal.”
“The need of the hour is to create coordination between Kisan Board and its board members to have direct communication with farmers,” remarked the VC while stressing on the formation of district wise Kisan Board Committees.
