Srinagar: The youth who sustained injuries during clashes in Shopian village Tuesday evening succumbed to his injuries, sources said.
Sources in the District Hospital Shopian said that Aadil Ahmad Magray was brought dead to the hospital. Aadil according to sources was hit by bullet in his abdomen.
Earlier, Aadil was seriously injured after government forces fired on protesters during clashes erupted after forces launched Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in a Shopian village.
They said that army, CRPF and SOG cordoned off Ganowpora village of the south Kashmir district after input about the presence of militants.
Soon after forces started search operation protesters hit the streets and pelted stones on forces, local sources said.
They said that after the clashes intensified and it became difficult for forces to carry on searches they allegedly opened fire on protesters injuring Aadil son of Farooq Ahamd Magray.
As per local sources several protesters sustained injuries during clashes.
