Clashes during CASO in Shopian, civilian injured

Srinagar: A youth was seriously injured after government forces allegedly fired on protesters during clashes erupted after forces launched Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in a Shopian village Tuesday evening.
Sources said that army, CRPF and SOG cordoned off Ganowpora village of the south Kashmir district after input about the presence of militants.
Soon after forces started search operation protesters hit the streets and pelted stones on forces, local sources said.
They said that after the clashes intensified and it became difficult for forces to carry on searches they allegedly opened fire on protesters injuring one Aadil Ahmad Magray son of Farooq Ahamd Magray.
Sources said that Adil was shifted to some hospital in critical condition. They added that many more protesters were injured during ongoing clashes.
