Hatemongering leadership needs psychiatric help: Malik
SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front said on Sunday that the Indian democracy stood fully exposed in Jammu and Kashmir because of “mass killings” and “state sponsored economic terrorism” against Kashmiris.
“Hatemongering leadership of a country, whose prime time television holds debates on good health and red cheeks of Kashmiris should seriously get psychiatric check up,” JKLF Muhammad Yasin Malik, said in a statement issued here.
Malik said this while addressing a gathering at Palpora Noorbagh on Sunday where he went to participate in a condolence meeting for JKLF member Muhammad Yousuf Butt alais Jangali, a statement issued by the front said.
The condolence meeting turned into a public gathering when people in large numbers came to greet Malik, the statement said, adding that the gathering, which included women, raised pro-freedom slogans.
In his address, JKLF chairman said, “Our unity, steadfastness, resilience and persistent resistance has strength to defeat illegal occupation and oppression of India”. He said that India had tried everything to break the will of Kashmiris.
“From mass killings to mass blinding and maiming, destroying properties to jailing thousands, putting ban on media and internet to false propaganda on TV channels and from intermediations to worst kind of oppression, Kashmiris have endeared everything but have refused to surrender before the Indian hegemony,” Malik said in the statement about the address.
Malik said that all this has “frustrated” the Indian leadership so much that they have started an “economic war” against Kashmiris that “brought down” the tourist industry “enormously”. “Recently in Jammu, the so-called chief minister asked her prime minister to announce something good to boost tourism in Kashmir but she was snubbed by Modi who openly asked Kashmiris to choose between Tourism and terrorism and hence initiated state sponsored economic war against Kashmiris,” Malik said.
