NIA raids continue in Kashmir for second day

Srinagar: National Investigation Agency (NIA) sleuths Sunday continued raiding pro-freedom activist’s houses in Srinagar, sources said.
They said that NIA team early today raided the house of Hurriyat conference (G) spokesman, Ayaz Akbar in Maloora area and started searches.
Sources said that another team of NIA raided the house of a businessman in Bemina area at the same time.
Pertinently, NIA is investigating the funding case registered after some pro-freedom leaders and activists confessed the receiving of hawala funds during a ‘sting operation’ conducted by a New Delhi based television channel.
The NIA had yesterday raided and searched the houses of many pro-freedom activists and businessmen including Nayeem Khan, Farooq Dar, Altaf Fantosh, Raja Mairaj, Zafar Akbar, Zahoor Watali, Shahid ul Islam, Noor Kalwal, Raja Zahoor Khan, Muhammad Sultan Tangnuu, Nazir Ahmad Mir alias Nazir Gas, Farooq Ahmad Wani, Muhammad Sultan Chandu,Dr Bashir Ahmad Bhat and others.
