Shutdown, protest in Anantnag town

Srinagar: Anantnag town in south Kashmir observed complete shutdown on Saturday against alleged highhandedness of the men in uniform.
Locals alleged that many residential houses in Reshi Bazar of old town were gutted on Friday after forces personnel fired tear smoke shell in them.
Local sources said that minor clashes also erupted in the town amidst shutdown and tension.
They said that all the business establishments, schools and government offices are closed in the south Kashmir town.
Local trader’s body also carried out a protest rally in the town to protest the alleged forces’ highhandedness.
Pertinently, forces resorted to massive tear smoke shelling on the civilian protesters on Friday who were protesting against the killing of Hizb commander Sabzar Bhat and his associate Faizan Muzaffar at the hands of forces in Tral.
