SRINAGAR: Chairman Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani was again stopped from offering Friday prayers, spokesperson Ayaz Akbar said.
He said Geelani despite his ailing health was barred from offering Fridaycongregational prayers. “It is unjustified and holds no ethical ground,” Akbar said, adding that resistance leaders are barred from performing religious obligations which is tantamount to interference in religious matters.
Slamming New Delhi, the spokesperson said it doesn’t even follow its “so-called secular theory”.
“On one hand, the Amarnath Yatris are being provided with all facilities and administration (is) utilising all its resources to facilitate their pilgrimage. Contrary to it, the resistance leadership is caged and Muslim communities reel under curfewed Ramadan,” Akbar said.
