Srinagar: A complete shutdown is being observed in Tral town of south Kashmir in Pulwama district Thursday for sixth consecutive day.
The shutdown started soon after a gunfight raged between militants and government forces in Saimoh area of the town Saturday last.
Hizbul Mujahideen commander Sabzar Ahmad Bhat and his aide Faizan Muzaffar, both residents of Tral were killed in the encounter.
Kashmir observed two day shutdown to mourn the death of Sabzar and Faizan however Tral is continuously shut ever since the encounter.
Local sources said that few shopkeepers opened their shops early today however youth started pelting stones resulting in their closure.
Meanwhile, routine life returned to Pulwama town after five days of protests and shutdown.
