Srinagar: Army Chief General Bipin Rawat Thursday reached Srinagar, sources. Rawat is scheduled to chair a key meet during which he will interact with top commanders, they said.
A few days earlier, Rawat had said that the Indian Army is facing “a dirty war” in Jammu and Kashmir. “The war has to be fought through innovative ways”, he told PTI. Rawat also had firmly backed Major Leetul Gogoi who used of a Kashmiri as a human shield.
Rawat had said the prime objective of awarding Major Nitin Leetul Gogoi, was to boost the morale of officers of the force who are operating in “a very difficult environment in the Jammu and Kashmir”.
