RINAGAR: The private schools in Kashmir have decided against conducting term first examinations for the VIII standard but indicated that the conduct of term second examinations would be discussed with the government.
“We will not follow any government diktat. The government orders are like tissue papers,” President of Kashmir Private Schools association, Ghulam Nabi Var to a gathering of private school owners and principals during an education conclave here.
“We have made it clear through all India private school association that in Kashmir we would not conduct T1 and 8th class exam come what may. For T2 we will take up the issue with the government,” he said.
Emphasising on his announcement to boycott the T-1 examination, Var said the president of private schools association is not less than a minister because “we are 80% stakeholders in towns, and 40% stakeholders in rural areas”.
