SRINAGAR: Condemning the detention of Hurriyat leaders, activists and imposing of restrictions on people’s movement by authorities on the anniversaries of Mirwaiz Molvi Mohammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Gani Lone, Chairman Syed Ali Geelani termed it “worst kind of state-sponsored terrorism”.
Geelani in a statement said authorities are “playing with fire” and the situation in state is turning from bad to worse.
Commenting on the “submissive approach” of PDP for “securing favours from Delhi”, Geelani said it (PDP) has virtually handed over the reins to Jan Sangh cadre and is following their dictates.
“There is martial law like situation and their (PDP’s) rhetoric for ‘battle of ideas and dialogue not bullets’ (has) proved a hoax,” he said.
“Disallowing people to commemorate their martyrs is unethical and people will be left with no alternative other than to take issue in their hands and resent through all possible means.” Geelani added.
