Clashes in Budgam, Pulwama after prayers

Srinagar: Clashes erupted between the government forces and protesters in Batpora, Kanihama area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday.
Local sources said that earlier 10 youth were arrested from Batpora and 5 from Kanihama area during night raids.
Witnesses said that hundreds of protesters assembled after Friday prayers and shouted anti-India and pro-freedom slogans.
They were raising slogans against the nocturnal police raids and arrests.
The protesters pelted stones on forces who retaliated with tear smoke shells triggering clashes.
Meanwhile, protesters clash with police and forces in south Kashmir’s Pulwama also.
The protests and clashes erupted soon after the congregational prayers.
Pertinently, joint resistance leaders, Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik had called for protests against the slapping of PSA on Syeda Aasiya Andrabi and her close aide Sofi Fehmeeda.
