DIPR sets up Media Centre at Hotel Centaur
SRINAGAR: Minister for Finance Dr Haseeb Drabu Wednesday visited SKICC here to take stock of the arrangements made for the 14th GST Council Meeting. He was accompanied by Commissioner Secretary Finance, Mr Navin Kumar Choudhary, Director Information, Dr Arun Kumar Manhas and other senior officers of the Finance, Information and other concerned Departments.
The Finance Minister enquired from the SKICC management and other concerned regarding the arrangements made at the venue for smooth conduct of the event.
Meanwhile, a Media Centre has been established by the Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR) at Centaur Lake View Hotel, Cheshmashahi to facilitate the visiting and local media persons for smooth coverage of the 14th GST Council meeting.
The Media Centre has been equipped with computers, internet facility and other necessary paraphernalia for the convenience of the media persons who will be covering the event.
Drabu also visited the Media Centre established by the Department of Information and Public Relations at the Centaur Lake View Hotel to take stock of the arrangements made for media persons. He expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made at both the venues and gave some valuable suggestions on how to improvise the arrangements.
Pertinently, the GST panel headed by India’s Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is meeting here to take a final call on the new taxation regime and finalize the rates of different commodities and services. Around 150 dignitaries including Finance Ministers and Finance Secretaries of all the states of India will be attending the meeting in Srinagar where the GST will be finally rolled out. Besides, around 200 media persons are arriving in Srinagar to cover the mega event.
