Lashkar-e-Toiba responsible says police
PULWAMA: Police has arrested two people in connection with the killing of PDP district president Abdul Gani Dar, and claimed that the killing was carried out by militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba.
One of the arrested, Bashir Ahmad, is accused of providing movement details of the victim to militants, while the other, Aslam Malik is the owner of the vehicle (Tavera-JK13C- 0702), which police say was used in the killing.
Further, police said that LeT militants Majid Mir alias Abbas (resident of Kakapora) and Ashraf Dar (resident of Bagh-e-Trich, Pulwama), were assisted by an “Over Ground Worker” Shakir Gogjoo alais Shakir Pujj, a resident of Kakapora in the killing.
Shakir is missing since and is believed to have joined LeT, the SSP Pulwama Mohammed Rayees Bhat said.
Dar was killed by suspected militants near Pahoo, Pulwama on April 24.
