SRINAGAR: Chairman Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani’s book “Rooh-e-Deen Ka Shanasa” (third volume) was released on Saturday at his Hyderpora residence.
A spokesperson of the conglomerate in a statement issued here said the state administration once again deployed police around Geelani’s residence-cum-office in Hyderpora where people from different walks of life and literary world were expected to attend the book release function.
Later on, the book was released in presence of office bearers and party leaders including Peer Saif ullah, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Raja Meraj u Din, Mohammad Yusuf Mujahid, Mohammad Afzal Lone, Naseem Geelani, Abdul Hamid Magrey, Zahoor ul Haq Geelani, and Ayaz Akbar.
Referring to the teachings of Allama Iqbal (RA), Geelani on the occasion said termed him a great scholar with missionary sprit who supported the “unification of Muslims as one Ummah”.
“Allama Iqbal’s (RA) teachings represented the crux of Islam and convey a message to resent and resist the tyrant forces,” Geelani said.
The spokesperson said the book is a great literary contribution of Syed Ali Geelani which he wrote during his house detention. “There was an increasing demand from public and literary quarters and as such selected people were invited to the function,” he said.
He said the book will be available at Milat Publications and other leading book stores of the state.
