PSC has not publicised the points secured by candidates
SRINAGAR: Candidates who had appeared in Prelims examination of Combined Competitive Exams (KAS) 2016 but failed to make it to the qualified list, have alleged that the result declared by Public Service Commission was full of discrepancies.
Staging a protesting at Press Enclave Srinagar Tuesday, the candidates described the result list declared by PSC on April 23 as “faulty”.
Some candidates claimed that they have secured more points than the cutoff (270.447) announced by the PSC but were still not figuring in the list.
“This is a blunder from the side of JKPSC. Those who have points less than the cut off are in the list. I have personally calculated and got 326 points but my name is nowhere in the list,” Nasir Ahmed, a candidate said.
The protestors also alleged that some of the candidates who did not appear in the examination were figuring in the list. They also resented that the commission had neither publicized the points secured by the candidates, nor made the official answer key public.
“Mistakes might have happened but at least they should declare the points that how much we have scored. They even didn’t publish the official answer keys,” Danish Rashid, another aspirant said.
Imran Ali, another candidate said that the disparity among subjects must be eradicated. “30% candidates got selected in physics and only 7% in Zoology. Same has happened with students of Political Science and Geography.”
The candidates said they are filing RTI applications seeking information of official answer keys and points secured by candidates.
Shakeel-ul-Rehman, official spokesperson of the JKPSC was not available for comments.
