Srinagar: A Baramulla Court on Wednesday sent incarcerated pro-freedom leader Masarat Alam Bhat to judicial remand till May 3, 2017.
Masarat was booked under fresh FIR No. 52/2017 registered in police station Baramulla after he was re-arrested in the jail premises on Monday.
Earlier, Hurriyat (G) leader and Muslim League chairman, Masarat was granted bail in FIR No 258/2016.
“Masarat was produced before a court in Baramulla where he was sent to fresh judicial remand,” legal secretary to Muslim League, Shah Riyaz told Kashmir Reader.
Masarat is behind bars since October 2010, barring forty days, after he spearheaded the then people’s uprising.
