Police deliberately ruining student’s career: Jama’at

Srinagar: “The presence of forces personnel near educational institutions vitiates the smooth educational environment as it creates hurdles in the movement of the students besides creating a sense of fear among the students.” This was stated by Jama’at-e-Islami in a statement on Tuesday.
“This seems to be a deliberate attempt to provoke these young and teenage students,” the statement said.
Referring to the incident that took place in Lal Chowk area on Monday, the Jama’at statement said that on 24th April, “by harassing the students reading in SP College, SP Higher Secondary School, Women’s College, Kothi-Bagh Higher Secondary Institute, the smooth educational atmosphere was deliberately disturbed and when the students protested peacefully against this intimidation, the forces personnel used undue power of lathi-charge and tear smoke shelling upon the young generation and thereby ruined the cordial atmosphere of these institutions and a number of innocent students got injured and a number of them were also apprehended by the police.”
Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir considers these atrocious forces and police actions as unjustified and illegal which tantamount to ruin their educational career and expresses deep concern over it, Jama’at said.
