Srinagar: The government of India is not in favour of talks with pro-freedom leadership in the Valley despite such demands from various quarters, India Today reported on Tuesday.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi with a message that the government should restart talks with “all stake holders” in the Valley. However, the Centre appears to be in no mood for discussion with Hurriyat leaders, the reports said.
Quoting sources the reports added that New Delhi believes that talks with pro-freedom leaders would yield no result.
“As situation in the Valley remains tense and incidents of stone pelting continues unabated, the government has decided to go ahead after the top militant commanders,” the reports said.
