Srinagar: Police on Monday re-arrested the incarcerated pro-freedom leader, Masarat Alam Bhat after he was bailed out by a Baramulla Court in FIR No 258/2016.
Hurriyat (G) leader and Muslim League chairman, Masarat is undergoing detention since October 2010 after he spearheaded the then people’s uprising.
“The Court of Baramulla Munsif had granted bail to Masarat two days back,” Muslim League legal secretary Shah Riyaz told Kashmir Reader. He added that as the bail order was admitted to the Baramulla jail authorities today where Masarat was lodged, they freed him however a police party from Baramulla came and re-arrested him.
“It was not immediately known where Masarat Alam was taken,” Riyaz said.
Pertinently, it was 46th FIR against Masarat which was bailed by any Court since 2010.
