Srinagar: Police did not allow the function of Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani’s book release on Sunday, sources said.
“Geelani’s residence was sealed by an extra contingent of police and CRPF men who did not allow anybody to go inside,” Hurriyat (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar told Kashmir Reader.
The release of the third volume of “Iqbal: Rohi Deen Ka Shinasa” was scheduled at Geelani’s residence where the octogenarian pro-freedom leader is undergoing house detention since long.
“Iqbal: Rohi Deen Ka Shinasa” is a commentary on legendary Allama Iqbal’s Persian poetry.
Strongly condemning the “banning of the function” Akbar said that such acts are “nothing but state terrorism.”
