Bandipora: All shops and business establishments were closed in Bandipora town Friday of north Kashmir after students protested against the force’s alleged highhandedness on student community.
A thin vehicular traffic movement is being observed in the town, local sources said.
Meanwhile, stone throwing youth fought with police and other forces in pitch battles near Gulshan Chowk.
Earlier students of Boys high school held a protest rally triggering shutdown in the main town.
Students were shouting anti-India and pro-freedom slogans while denouncing the force’s action on college students in Pulwama last week.
Similar protests were held in Ajas and Aloosa area of the district.
