Motor race to begin in city on April 22

Srinagar: Around 50 motor sport enthusiasts are expected to   participate in the upcoming auto cross event ‘Mudzilla’, a statement issued by the organizers on Tuesday said.
The event is organized by Kashmir Off Road in collaboration with J&K Tourism.
The event is a first of its kind 4×4 autocross challenges to take place in the valley. The two day event will commence from 22nd April.
Speaking on the occasion, founder of Kashmir Off Road, Ali Sajid said- “We are delighted to announce our second major event of the year ‘Mudzilla’.”
“The participants will be competing on a specially created mud and slush obstacle race track and upto 50 participating 4×4 vehicles are expected to take part in the event,”Ali added.
“We aim to give all our motor sporting enthusiasts a sampling of yet another form of off-road fun. The race  are scheduled to be held at Ompora and would begin at 10:30 am and all the pros and cons of the race have been taken into account and the tracks have been developed accordingly.” He further added.
“We are aiming to make Mudzilla an annual calendar event and hope it will boost motorsport in the valley and build a strong community of motorsport enthusiasts in the region. Such events can put Kashmir on the national motor sporting map boost adventure tourism in Kashmir.” added Ali Sajid
Mudzilla will be held in a controlled driving environment with specially created race track and driver’s briefing and test run before the races.
Director J&K Tourism, said Mehmood Ahmad  Shah,  “We are glad to be extending our support to Kashmir Off Road. Such events can boost adventure tourism in the valley.”
