Srinagar: Central University of Kashmir (CUK) acting vice-chancellor, Prof Muhammad Aslam inaugurated the 5-day personal contact programme (PCP) for the trainees, from the administrative staff, registered for Prabodh, Praveen and Pragya courses respectively, under Hindi teaching scheme, at Nowgam-II administrative cum academic block here.
Aslam hailed the employees of the varsity for their proactive approach in learning Hindi and expressed his happiness over the successful completion of the Prabodh and Praveen programmes by the university staff. He exhorted upon all the employees to take up the challenge of learning Hindi and said that learning of any language has to be intrinsically motivated. He asked the participants to evince keen interest in the lectures to be delivered by the experts during these 5-days.
Registrar Prof Afzal Zargar said that 90 per cent of more than 60 substantive employees, enrolled in different programmes of Hindi learning have passed with flying colors. He said the university staff was showing keen interest and enthusiasm in learning the language and subsequently putting it to use in the official communications and file work. Prof Zargar also welcomed the experts and asked the trainees to further improve their language and writing skills during the five day PCP.
Hindi Adhikari Sakina Akhter enumerated different steps taken by the Rajbhasha Cell in promoting Hindi among the varsity staff. She said the employees have secured good percentage of marks during their examinations in Prabodh and Praveen, adding that the Cell was regularly conducting classes of the trainees and was also holding Personal Contact Programmes to further improve the language skills of the employees.
