Several students injured in Shopian, Kulgam, protest in Sumbal

Srinagar: Several protesting students sustained injuries and at least three were arrested Monday after clashes erupted around the government degree college Shopian.
Sources said that government forces used tear smoke shells against protesting students who pelted stones during clashed around the local degree college.
The students were protesting against force’s action on students at Pulwama Saturday last.
At least three students were also arrested in Shopian and the situation in the south town was very tense.
Reports of many protesting students have also reached from another south Kashmir town, Kulgam.
Sources said that those injured in Kulgam include some girl students.
Meanwhile hundreds of students of Government Degree College Sumbal staged protest against force’s action in Degree College Pulwama few days back.
Eyewitness said that the students of Degree College Sumbal and Higher Secondary Sumbal, including girls, took out a protest rally from college towards main market and raised slogans against the government forces.
The students carrying placards passed through the main market however dispersed peacefully.
