SRINAGAR: Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani on Saturday rejected the statement of former defence minister of India, Manohar Parrikar that ‘Resolving Kashmir is not easy’.
“Let India take sincere steps, shun its egoistic approach and respect the fundamental rights (of Kashmiris). This will pave way for lasting solution to the long-pending issue,” Geelani said in a statement issued here.
Geelani added, “While people in the state believe in human values, the Indian authorities under the garb of hollow slogans of so-called Kashmiriyat, democracy and humanity are exploiting the situation and are sponsoring the state-terrorism.”
Meanwhile, the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, a constituent party of Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Geelani organised a blood donation camp on Saturday at its central office in Hyderpora.
Geelani while addressing to donors and youth said, “The blood bank is not specified to any particular section of society but will try to reach to all those in need.”
He said as 8 youth felt to bullets and hundreds received injuries on April 9, “we hurriedly organised the blood donation camp to help these needy patients”.
He also expressed his anguish over taking a youth as human shield by army and said “it speaks volumes about the atrocities being perpetrated by Indian forces”. “Nobody is there to look into these heinous acts,” he said.
