Baramulla: Two kilometers from the district headquarters of Baramulla, a road-link connecting Janbazpora to Binner is in a dilapidated causing troble to the commuters.
Gulam Mohammad, a local resident of Binner village said the two-kilometer road stretch from Janbazpora to Binner that is the vital link for half a dozen villages including Binner, Kawdara, Vankora, Khahmoha is in a shambles.
The road is full of potholes almost after every five feet. The water overflow from nearby drains and from fields is drenching the road but the concerned agencies are not taking cognizance. He said the authorities seem to be waiting for a tragedy before going for the repairs of the road.
Nisar Ahmad another local citizen of the area said the transporters can’t run their vehicles above 15 kilometers speed due to the condition of roads. The situation often results into late arrival of government employees and schoolchildren.
“We raised the issue at many public programmes only to receive assurabces from the authorities. However, the ground situation does not change a bit,” he said.
