Srinagar: Only 7 per cent voter turnout was recorded in the first two hours of re-polling for Budgam district in Srinagar parliamentary constituency on Thursday, official sources said.
They said 221 votes were cast at 38 polling stations in the first two hours. There are 35169 registered voters in the said 38 centres, official sources said.
Voting began at 7 a.m. and will end at 4 p.m.
Authorities have imposed restrictions on pedestrian and vehicular movement in the area.
Re-poll was ordered in 38 polling stations of Chadoora, Chrar-e-Sharief, Khansahib and Beerwah tehsils of Budgam district.
