Srinagar: Paramilitary BSF on Monday replaced local police and CRPF deployments outside the residence of chairman of the Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani, amalgam’s spokesman said.
“Today a large contingent of forces cordoned the residence of Geelani Sahib and BSF personnel were deployed outside his residence in Hyderpora,” the spokesman in a statement.
“In addition to JK police, CRPF was deployed and today they were replaced by BSF,” he said and condemned state authorities for turning Geelani’s residence into a “military garrison.”
“There is strict vigil and nobody can meet Syed Ali Geelani, the spokesman said and condemned “cowardice acts which won’t break the resolve” of octogenarian leader.
Meanwhile, Geelani paid heartfelt tributes to youth killed in the Valley and said that “these brave hearts are laying their precious lives for our better tomorrow.”
“We in this hour of grief pay our salute and pray for their heavenly aboard,” said Geelani, who continues to be under house arrest.
