Bandipora: The normal life has come to a grinding halt in Gurez valley of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district due to heavy snowfall in four days.
The local sources said that no traffic is visible on roads due to snowfall besides the tunnel has also been closed for unknown reasons.
The power supply in the area has been snapped as the electric poles have been uprooted. The transmission wires are lying unattended on ground, locals said.
A pick-up lorry was trapped in an avalanche in Kanzalwan area but the driver and labourers were rescued, SDM Gurez told Kashmir Reader.
The locals said that the frightening snowfall at a time when spring season had arrived and people were busy in attending to their fields, has left the normal life shattered.
