Srinagar: Kashmiri actress Zaira Wasim who stole the thunder with her power packed performance in Dangal, has won an award in the 64th National Film Awards. The event was held in National Media Centre, New Delhi, reports said.
The talented actress who portrayed the role of young Geeta Phogat in the film charmed the audience with her innocent acting skills. Even Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan praised the young kid by saying that she has enormous potential to make it big in the industry. The young Kashmiri girl became a household name after her gripping performance in the film. The kid won the Best Supporting Actress Awards at the recently concluded National Awards.
The jury lauded Zaira for her strong portrayal of sportswoman on the big screen.
Earlier, Zaira Wasim was surrounded by controversies for her meeting with the J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
