Migrant teachers absent since July 2016
Baramulla: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla has revoked the suspension order of three migrant teachers absent from their duties at Govt High School Bimyar since July 2016.
In an order issued on Friday DC Nasir Ahmad Naqash rescinded the suspension order issued by Sub-divisional Magistrate (SDM) Uri Sagar Doifode on 27 March 2016.
On March 18, 2017 the SDM Uri had paid a surprise visit to GHS Bimyar Uri and found three migrant teachers absent from their duties since July 2016. On March 27, 2017 he ordered their suspension orders under order number SDM/Uri/16/1876-78. The three teachers are working as teachers in GHS Bimyar under the PM special package.
However, four days after, the deputy commissioner cancelled the suspension order though order number DCB/PS/01/57-60, dated on/31/03/2017.
The DC’s action has caused resentment among the local staff, who rued that while the local teachers were attending the duties regularly, most of the teachers under PM’s special package were absconding from their duties in every zone from July 2016.
“The Education department is already facing shortage of teachers in almost every school. While the most migrant teachers are absconding since July, and department is releasing their salaries rather than taking action against them,” A teacher wishing no to be named said.
