SRINAGAR: Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM), Syeda Aasiya Andrabi on Saturday said whenever the “sham” elections are to be conducted in the State, New Delhi and its “puppets” step up “oppression and brutalities” against the people.
“Indian government is going to conduct the election drama this month in Srinagar and Islamabad (Anantnag). With it, Indian forces here have increased the oppression and brutalities against innocent Kashmiris,” she said in a statement.
She said the “oppressive” tactics adopted by authorities against the resistance movement is nothing but frustration.
Slamming Delhi-based media, Andrabi said it is “staging fake interviews to defame the movement”. “An Indian news channel staged a fake story showing how boys are paid for pelting stones and the next day it came to fore how these teenagers were forced to give such interview. These boys clarified that they were threatened of dire consequences if they didn’t take part in this interview,” she said.
“To counter such propaganda by India, a complete boycott of these sham elections is must to expose this media in front of the international community,” she said.
