Srinagar: Young PDP legislators have hailing the efforts of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu for protecting the special taxation powers of J&K while rolling out of GST.
These legislators including the party Aijaz Ahmed Mir, Yawar Dilawar Mir and Firdous Ahmed Tak have said that it is after a long spell that any constitutional amendment of parliament has not been unilaterally extended to J&K.
They lauded the efforts of Drabu for taking a tough stand in the Empowered Committee on Goods and Services Tax , protecting the special status of Jammu and Kashmir with regards to taxation.
They added that these Young legislators said that GoI finance minister Arun Jaitley, made it amply clear that state government will decide the manner and method of GST keeping in view its special status.
Spotlighting the tax incentives and exemptions that the state government awards various human resource intensive industries, which have been done away in the GST, these legislators hailed the business friendly stand of the Finance Minister.
