Srinagar: Police and forces fired pellets and tear smoke shells on mourners in Chadoora village injuring the grandfather of the slain boy, local sources said.
They said that hundreds of people had assembled at Wathoora to receive the dead body of Aamir Fayaz who was killed at the hands of government forces.
“People were busy in making arrangements for the funeral of Fayaz when forces came and fired pellets and tear gas shells on people without any provocation,” locals alleged.
They said that Aamir’s grandfather, Abdul Ganai was among the injured in the incident. 70 years old, Ganai was immediately rushed to some hospital, they said.
Two youths, Zahid Rashid and Aamir Fayaz were killed in force’s actions in Zuin village of Budgam district after clashes erupted in the area during a gunfight between forces and protesters.
At least 17 more civilians sustained injuries during the clashes.
