SRINAGAR: Hurriyat Conference (G) on Friday slammed authorities for re-arresting the incarcerated senior resistance leader and Muslim League chairman Masarat Alam “in an old case and filing fake cases against him to prolong his detention”.
Hurriyat spokesman Ayaz Akbar in a statement issued here said, “It is quite strange and deplorable that authorities don’t follow any ethics while dealing with his (Alam’s) case. They have surpassed all limits.”
The continuous detention of Alam is “unjustified and illegal”, Akbar said, adding, the ML chairman is subjected to “vengeance”.
The spokesman said court and other institutions are “being used to accomplish and endorse the brutal policies of state machinery”. “The local administration is incompetent and has no option but to follow its masters in Delhi. Whosoever is involved in such inhuman actions and evil acts, shall face wrath from Allah,” Akbar said.
