Srinagar: Radio Kashmir Srinagar has won ‘ladli media award’ for highlighting gender sensitive issues. The public broadcasting institution bagged the award for a drama titled “beti aayee, khushyan layee” produced by Muhammad Tariq Zargar. The drama was written by Bashir Ahmad Buchh, a prominent writer and broadcaster. Zargar received the award at a ceremony in New Delhi presided over by former planning commission member Syeda Hamid. Population First, an organization working for women issues awards eminent journalists and media organizations for their outstanding contribution in highlighting gender issues. The Radio Kashmir won the award in radio play category.
