Srinagar: Police arrested at least 21 youth from twin villages of volatile Pulwama district during nocturnal raids, local sources said on Tuesday.
They said that policemen carried out night raids in Muran and Kongun villages last night and rounded up twenty one youth for their alleged involvement in stone pelting.
Pertinently arrest spree in many areas of the district continues since the announcement for the by-polls to south Kashmir parliamentary seat was made last week.
Meanwhile, reports from south Kashmir’s Kulgam district said that scores of youth were arrested during night raids at Chawalgam and Budroo areas of the district.
They said that protests were held at Chawalgam against the arrests.
