KSL-2: Razay Kadal Super Heroes to meet Raj Bagh Royals in summit clash on March 24

SRINAGAR: RazayKadal Super Heroes and RajBagh Royals made it into the final of Kashmir Super Leagues second edition as both teams won their semi-finals played at Ajman UAE earlier this week.
According to the organizers the final will be played on 24th March at Dubai International Cricket Stadium and is scheduled to start at 4:30pm IST.
The first semifinal was played between Razay Kadal Super Heroes and Soura Qalanders.
RK Superheroes skipper Naseer Hazari won the toss and opted to bat first, but the decision to bat first backfired as Soura Qalanders bowlers took full advantage of overcast conditions and also wind helped the seam bowlers as Soura bowlers jolted the RK Superheroes as they lost their opener Majid on the very first ball of the match and few balls later they lost another wicket and were struggling to keep the scoreboard moving.
With 21/2 RK Super heroes skipper arrived at the       crease and played captains knock scoring run a ball 39 runs as wickets kept tumbling from other side.
Down the order Gulzar Ahmad played a 18 bal cameo scoring quick fire 36 and provided much needed impetus to the scoring rate as RK Superheros put a formidable total of 158 on the board.l
For Soura Qalanders Qumail bowled economical four over spell conceded only 10 runs and took two wickets.
In reply Soura Qalandars openers started their cautiously and played too many dots balls and the opening bowlers of RazayKadal, Danish and Gulzar Ahmad took advantage of Soura’s cautious approach as they increased the pressure on them.
Soura Qalandars lost opener Umer Wali in the third over and his partner Mahoo soon followed him.
Middle order batsman Basir (32 of 31 balls) and Rouf (29 of 40 balls) then studied the innings, as the scoreboard ticked over slowly.
Soura required a late blitz from batsmen Umer Mir (31 of 18 balls) and Qumail (35 of 16 balls) to get within touching distance of their target of 159.
But luck didn’t favored Soura Qalanders as set batsman Umer Mir was adjudged caught behind in a controversial decision which turned out to be the turning point of the match as Soura Qalanders lost the match by a narrow margin of three runs.
Gulzar Ahmad of RazayKadal Super Heroes for his all-round performance was adjudged man of the matchl.
The second semifinal saw last year’s runners up RajBagh Royals batting first against BuherKadalBadshah.
RajBagh Royals openers Mohsen (49 of 34 balls) and Sufyan (42 of 26 balls) provided a formidable start as Rajbagh Royals rack up the runs quickly, as they navigated the windy conditions with precision.
Once, both the two openers were removed, BuherKadal bowlers gained some momentum as they slowed the scoring down. Nevertheless, the next two batsmen put in a textbook T20 display as Mohsin Shah (38 of 32 balls) and Junaid (31 of 23 balls) helped RajBagh Royals finish strong, as they managed a score of 185/4.
As the day progress the condition becomes favorable for batting and BuherKadal’s chances of chasing 186 increased significantly.
RajBagh’s Royals opening bowlers Yousuf Naqshbandi displayed splendid bowling performance and rattled the top batting order of Buher Kadal Badshah by claiming three wickets upfront and BuherKadal Badshah were tottering with 29/4
As Buher Kadal were losing strength and fight, a late revival from Furqan (30 of 29 balls), Abid (25 of 14 balls) and Muneer Mustafa (21 of 14 balls), gave them some hope. However, with no one else managing to support these batsman, BuherKadal Badshah were eventually bundled out for 139 in 17.4 overs,
Yousuf Naqshbandi for his splendid bowling performance was declared man of the match.
