Vigilance Organization Kashmir (VOK) Friday arrested three officials of health department in a case related to misappropriation of government funds to the tune of Rs 1.54 crore.
A statement issued by VOK said that Dr Fayaz Ahmad Banday, Ex BMO Beerwah, Mushtaq Ahmad Parray, cashier and Zahoor Ahmad Banday, pharmacist of Block Medical Office Beerwah were arrested in case FIR No 26/2014 P/S VOK U/s 5(1) (c) r/w 5(2) J&K P.C Act Samvat 2006 and section 120/B RPC.
The officials are accused of misappropriating government funds to the tune of Rs 1.54 crore meant for salary of employees and for implementation of different schemes from 2008 to 2011.
Moreover, in another case, VOK arrested Sajad Ahmad Mir, the then warden Kastooba Gandhi Balika Vidiyalaya (KGBV) Boniyar in case FIR No. 29/2014 P/S VOK U/s 5(2) P.c. Act-2006 r/w section 120-B RPC regarding misappropriation of government funds under SSA Scheme to the tune of Rs 25 lacs during the financial year 2013-14.
