Baramulla: The Government Middle School Dogripora in Barmulla’s Rafiabad area stayed locked for the third consecutive day on Thursday.
Villagers of Dogripora said they would not allow the lock to be removed until the education department deputes at least three teachers to the school.
On Thursday morning, dozens of villagers reached the school and stopped teachers from going inside. The teachers were seen outside the school throughout the day. They went home late in the afternoon.
The education department had deputed two TLC volunteers to teach students but the villagers refused to allow them to teach, claiming that they were not qualified.
“Both are only matriculation pass; how can they teach our children? We demand at least three teachers to be deputed to the school and also spacious accommodation for the school,” villagers told Kashmir Reader.
Chief Education Officer Baramulla, Mushtaq Ahmad said that he had directed the Zonal Education Officer to resolve the matter.
