Clashes follow Friday prayers in Sopore

Srinagar: Clashes between the government forces and protesters erupted in Sopore town in north Kashmir after Friday prayers, reports said.
Hundreds of people assembled outside historic Jamia Masjid Sopore amid after congregational prayers and started raising pro-freedom slogans.
Local sources said that protesters started marching towards main chowk of the apple town however forces stopped them.
The protesters immediately started pelting stones on the forces triggering clashes.
The Joint resistance leadership comprised of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik, had called for peaceful protests after Friday prayers against the killing of 17 years old Kaneeza and critically injuring her brother in a Kupwara village.
