SRINAGAR: A day-long training programme organized by Department of Floriculture on ‘Commercial Floriculture’ was held here Monday for flower growers of Kashmir division.
As many as 150 growers and 30 field functionaries from various districts of Kashmir were registered for the training programme held at Institute of Management and Public Administration, Srinagar.
During the session, a multimedia presentation on various aspects of flower growing was presented by trainers.
On the occasion, Floriculture officer said that 1600 flower growers are registered with the Department and through this continuous process of training programmes, knowledge about new practices and latest innovations in the field are transformed to them. He said the department also sends farmers outside the State for training workshops under different Government schemes like RKVY, MIDH and ATMA.
