SRINAGAR Investigating officer Muzaffar Ahmed appeared before a court hearing Asrar Mushtaq murder case on Monday, after it had issued non-bailable warrant against him. Principal District and Sessions Judge Srinagar Rashid Ali Dar had issued the warrant on February 27 and directed SP Budgam to withhold the salary of the investigating officer in Asrar murder case.
The court recorded Muzaffer’s statement and listed the case for March 15 again. The two are accused of killing their friend Asrar Mushtaq Dar, a resident of Maisuma locality in Srinagar civil lines, in a suspected love triangle case. Asrar’s killing had triggered massive protests in Srinagar but police investigations found that the murder was not related to counterinsurgency.
