Pulwama: The recent reshuffle in Education department has sent four more teachers to a school with nine students on roll in Pulwama taking the teacher student ratio to nearly 1:1.
Government primary school, Rabitar (Parigam), Pulwama located behind a hillock, has nine students on roll and three ReT teachers posted. The directorate has transferred four regular teachers to the school taking the toll to seven.
Another primary school in the vicinity of this school is less than a kilometer away.
An education department official on condition of anonymity said “Apparently the transfer orders were directly issued by the education directorate without consulting any on-field personnel or the district CEOs which has resulted in this mayhem.”
He said the filed officials have now been asked by CEOs “to do what we have been doing” so that the mess can be cleared.
“This is some kind of a joke that has been played on the teachers as well as the students,” he said.
