Srinagar: Police claimed to have busted a Hizbul Mujahideen module by arresting three from Srinagar’s Bemina locality on Wednesday.
Police said the trio was intercepted by a police party in the city’s west zone near Bemina Bypass crossing.
They were identified as Reyaz Ahmad Wani, Ikhlaq Ahmad Khanday residents of Dachan Kishtwar and Tawseeul-Nabi, a resident of Kishtwar town.
After apprehending the three persons, the police also claimed to have recovered two pistols, 20 rounds, four grenades, one wireless set and a packet of explosive substance.
A police spokesperson said preliminary investigations pointed out that the trio was working with an active Hizb militant Jahangeer of Kishtwar.
“A case (FIR number 41/2017) under section 7/25 arms act, 3/5 explosive substance act was registered against the militants,” said a police official adding they have taken up further investigations in the matter.
